ABC News Studios production house launched with programming on Disney platforms

ABC News is bringing more programming to the table with the launch of production house ABC News Studio.

The company plans to air more than 100 hours of programming on ABC, Hulu, Disney+ and National Geographic throughout 2022.

ABC News Studio is currently in production with three feature-length documentaries and 15 series and specials. The initial slate comes from the likes of Dawn Porter Irene Taylor, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Stanley Nelson.

Mike Kelley was named vice president and director of the new studioand David Sloan will serve as ABC News Studios’ senior executive producer and creative director. Jacqueline Gloverhead of documentary for Onyx Collective, oversaw the initial slate feature documentaries for ABC News Films.

The studio first launched in 2021 and earlier this year with projects on ABC and Hulu.

“ABC News Studios – and its subsidiary ABC News Films – the first slate of over 100 hours of programming this year is a tremendous achievement,” Kelley said in a statement. “We plan to release at least one new ABC News Studios title each month only on Hulu and continue to launch hits across the network. I am energized by the creativity of the ABC News teams and our third-party production partners. to further develop an extensive content pipeline.
