Abu Dhabi Charisma production house expands with For-A system

Charisma chose For-A solutions when building new facilities in Saudi Arabia to meet the growing demand for entertainment and events.

Abu Dhabi-based production house Charisma Group recently selected an end-to-end system from FOR-A to rapidly expand its studio capacity. Charisma has production capabilities in the Gulf region and works with local and international broadcasters. As the covid lockdown eased, the company had to ramp up productions very quickly and looked to expand.

It chose to build new facilities in Saudi Arabia to meet the unprecedented demand for entertainment and events. Because the studios needed to be up and running quickly and the project had a limited workforce, Charisma turned to For-A.

“Internally, we went through a detailed exercise to explore the best possible options,” said Aiman Al-Ziyoud, CEO of Charisma Group. “Time scale was the most difficult factor we faced. Although we had many relationships with all the top players in the industry, we opted for a solution from FOR-A.

The initial project built a large production studio, centered around the FOR-A HVS-2000 production switcher, MFR-3000 router, FA-9600 versatile audio and video processor, ClassX dual-channel graphics generator and video servers. Insight production. FOR-A also provided third-party monitors and other infrastructure equipment.

Now a second, smaller studio has been added using the HVS-490 production mixer. Both studios include the Insight Video Server. They are now in constant use to meet the ever-increasing demand for Charisma-produced content from major broadcasters in the region, including MBC, SBA, Rotana and IMG.

Ideas Concept, the project’s system integrator, and Charisma studied the entire technology solutions market. While speed of completion was of crucial importance to the project, they also recognized that they had to maintain the highest technical and creative standards. They also had to keep in mind the possibility of upgrading to 4k Ultra HD in the near future.

“Through detailed discussions with the Charisma team, we understood their clear vision of what they want to achieve now and how they will expand it in the future, including the prospect of 4k Ultra HD,” said Mohammed Abu Ziyadeh, System Engineering Manager, FOR -A Middle East. “As a result, we have been able to realize their vision with systems that guarantee efficiency, reliability, time savings and exceptional quality.

“It was a great pleasure to work with the Charisma team in Saudi Arabia during these difficult times,” added Abu Ziyadeh. “They were extremely cooperative before, during and after the installations. We are all proud of our work on this remarkable production unit, delivered within a very tight deadline.
