MUMBAI: Panorama Studios, which has made such acclaimed films as âRaidâ, âOmkaraâ, âKhuda Haafizâ and âDrishyamâ, have branched out into music.
Actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn launched Panorama Music on Tuesday. The label, which will be headed by Rajesh Menon, a well-established music industry executive, will create original singles, film music, independent music and regional content.
Created with the intention of providing a platform for aspiring musicians and artists, the label will focus on regional content and its Hindi offerings will include devotional and Sufi music, as well as ghazals.
When launching the label, Devgn said, âMusic has always been a space that has always interested me. With digital media touching our lives in so many ways, the possibilities for music are endless. He added that facets of India’s rich musical culture remain unexplored, a gap he hoped the new music label would fill. “
Devgn’s manager and film producer Kumar Mangat Pathak and producer-director Abhishek Pathak are the leaders of the music label.
Outlining the goals of the music label, Abhishek said, “We want to create music that matters and establish a unique sound space for India.” And Menon added: “We hope to create quality music and touch people’s hearts.” Just like the Panorama films.
