Dev Patel’s new production banner, Minor Realm, has bolstered its film and television production team by adding Lakshmi Iyengar and Samarth Sahni to its executive ranks.
The Oscar nominee Hotel Mumbai star already has a first deal to produce, develop and premiere projects with Shivani Rawat’s production and finance company, ShivHans Pictures.
Iyengar, most recently vice president of global acquisitions and production at Sony Pictures Entertainment, will join Minor Realm as executive vice president and head of production and development. She will produce and oversee the company’s film and television development program. Sahni will join Minor Realm as Executive Vice President of Production and will also produce film and television projects under the company’s banner.
Sahni has worked with Patel to produce films, including his upcoming directorial debut, monkey manwhich is in post-production and has been acquired by Netflix, as well as The wedding guest and the short film home buyer, led by Patel.
Both Iyengar and Sahni will be based in Los Angeles and will report directly to Patel. “There are so many stories and critical visions of incredibly talented minds that need to be told, but too often there is no possibility or opportunity to do so. Our passion at Minor Realm is to foster and champion these creatives,” Patel said in a statement.

Patel is represented by WME, Curtis Brown and Magnolia Entertainment.
