The transition to Epoch Films UK for the Thurah filmmaker also marks a turning point in his career. After 17 years with Academy Films in the UK and 11 years with Epoch in the US as a partner and talent, he is making the full transition to being with Epoch on both sides of the globe.

Twice winner of the DGA Business Manager of the Year award, de Thurah said: “I was adopted, or taken into this Epoch family, in 2011. Sometimes you find people in your life where something clicks d a particular way. In 4th grade I wrote an essay saying “friends are very important, and so I’m glad I started school – if I stayed home all the time, I’d never meet new friends” . It’s important – you can have good hygge and good camaraderie. I guess I already had some kind of compass back then. They made me come,” he joked. “Academy Films was my first production company, before Bacon and Epoch…leaving them in the UK was a tough decision. It’s been an exciting time in my career, both in terms of directing and thinking about filmmaking. future. I want to do great work, mentor young directors, and help build a corporate culture for Epoch. It feels good to reach big milestones in life in new chapters.

Epoch Founder Mindy Goldberg said, “We’re just thrilled to have this all-star team of Megan Campbell and Nick Fewtrell join our team and launch our UK office with Martin de Thurah and them at the helm. . Megan is a talented executive full of energy and fresh ideas on how to build a business outside of traditional models and Nick is the yin to that yang. An accomplished producer, he’s a hands-on thinker who can do anything incredibly well and do it effortlessly. And Martin is the icing on the cake!

Over the past decade, Campbell has worked alongside many high-end creative production houses where she has represented talent and built communities. His global and diverse background in advertising, entertainment and technology across US, UK and EU territories provides the company with a unique and advantageous perspective on the ever-changing media landscape. Complementing this, Fewtrell has produced many projects for top directors at several production houses on both sides of the Atlantic. His over 25 years of in-depth production knowledge in the advertising, film and music video industries brings a multi-faceted intelligence essential to the constant demand for creative content in the advertising and entertainment arts arenas.

“When Mindy and Melissa approached me to launch Epoch in London, I was immediately excited to work with such tough women in the industry,” Campbell said. “It is an honor to be part of the arrival of such a forward-thinking and established company in the UK. I really look forward to building the Epoch office with its incredible list of directors alongside Nick Fewtrell and the incredible extended team in the United States”

Fewtrell commented, “What excited me the most about this opportunity was the diversity of the talent roster. To be able to mold a UK market offering into the mold that me and Megan believe in was too good to be denied. I am fortunate to have worked with some very talented people in our industry and to be able to bring this level of craftsmanship and creativity to market gives me enormous pleasure – building in turn on the ethos of Epoch that Mindy and Melissa worked so hard to achieve it.

Epoch Managing Partner/Executive Director Culligan added, “Europe is hungry for new voices. Brands are hungry for new voices – diverse voices that more accurately reflect the audiences they serve. We believe in this mission. We knew the time was right to enter the UK market to meet the constant demand for producing compelling creative content in the worlds of advertising and entertainment. We are delighted to have Megan and Nick leading our new office, working as a team across the US and in the UK/EU market together as one.

Epoch Films UK’s roster will be drawn with acclaimed directors from its US roster, including DA Yirgou, Dugan O’Neal, Emile Thalund, Emma Westenberg, Hannah Pearl Utt, JILL, Matias & Mathias, Matthew Swanson, Zachary Heinzerling, in more of Thurah’s partner, and his latest signed talents, Carl Sundemo and Ruganzu “Riggs” Howard.

The UK office is just the first step in Epoch’s larger plan to create opportunities for its talent across brand and content platforms. Alongside Epoch Films’ expansion into the UK/European market, the company will venture further into feature film and television by forging a new alliance and creating a 360 degree production entity with a European long-term production and management company. The two companies will work together to deliver the 360 degree filmmaking model to brands, platforms and directorial talent. Details surrounding this alliance are expected to be announced this summer at the Cannes Film Festival and Cannes Lions. Currently, Epoch has two long-running television projects in various stages of development, including one based on a novel he chose and another centered around an off-Broadway solo show.

“Epoch’s team of directors and producers have been engaged in publicity as well as feature film projects since Epoch began 30 years ago. We succeeded in both. We’re just more adults now, so we’re ready to officially announce these efforts. I hope we achieve our expanded vision – that’s always the challenge,” commented Goldberg. “Our philosophy as a company has been to do great things – which we have done. Now we are laying that foundation for bigger things. What’s even better, as Martin shared, is how much we all sincerely love each other and want to support the success of everyone involved in the business globally It’s very exciting and a very good feeling.
