Over the years, Gameloft played a key role in the mobile games market. The French video game publisher presented us with incredible titles like the Asphalt series, Six Guns, Sniper Fury, Gangstar Vegas, and much more. Gameloft is now adding another new studio in Paris, the French capital, it will be the company’s 18th studio in total.
Gameloft’s new Parisian studio will work on a new free-to-play game
Over the past few years, Gameloft has been actively working to leverage the company’s expertise in free-to-play games, and to do this, Gameloft has been working on a new title which they describe as “an action and sports oriented experience for multiplayer and crossplay.”
The new studio in Paris will focus primarily on this title and will be led by Gameloft’s studio director, Julien Billard. The new title Gameloft is working on will supposedly be released on both PC and console, the new studio will be located close to the existing Gameloft and will employ up to 30 people by the end of this year.
Gameloft can benefit from the support of the French government
It comes as French President Emmanuel Macron, in his presidential election campaign, said he wanted to do “France the land of video games“, including a hub for game development and esports. CEO of Gameloft Stephane Roussel says the company is definitely international and multicultural but the roots are in France.
With the game industry growing rapidly across the globe, there is a need for businesses to build more infrastructure and hire more staff to meet the needs of this massive consumer base.
