Mara Brock Akil kicked off the production company’s new story27 as part of its previously announced global deal with Netflix. Additionally, Akil hired Susie Fitzgerald as President of Development and Production.

Fitzgerald will oversee all film, television and digital media projects for story27. Prior to joining the company, she was Executive Vice President of Script Programming for AMC and SundanceTV. At AMC, she oversaw a roster that included hits like “Breaking Bad”, “The Walking Dead”, “Mad Men” and “Better Call Saul”.

Akil has defined its first list of development projects under the deal, which can be read in full below.
