After a groundbreaking ceremony on October 22, a new post-production studio opened in New Jersey, further cementing NJ as an up-and-coming entertainment hub!
Phiphen Studiosa state-of-the-art post-production house, is now open for business!
The facility will serve New Jersey’s growing film community as studios, networks and independent productions continue to flock to the Garden State.
“New Jersey is the birthplace of Solax, the first female-run studio built in the early 1900s by movie mogul and filmmaker extraordinaire Alice Guy-Blaché“, said Secretary of State Tahesha Way. “We have now come full circle in welcoming women-owned company Phiphen Studios to the state and wish them much success..”
This studio is the latest expansion of New Jersey-based production company Phiphen, a women-led company founded by award-winning producers Molly Conners and Jane Sinisi.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to cut the ribbon and fully launch Phiphen Studios in Englewood Cliffs. It’s been a labor of love for our team and we’re so happy to welcome the film industry and our community to the studio.“, says Molly Conners, COO of Phiphen Studios and CEO and Founder of Phiphen.
“We want to establish that New Jersey itself has its own identity for making amazing movies and we are so grateful to share this moment with all of you. This is a milestone for the film community and the people of New Jersey, one that should be celebrated.“, added Phiphen Studios CEO Jane Sinisi.
Phiphen Studios adds to the production infrastructure that has developed in New Jersey since the restoration of New Jersey Film and Digital Media Tax Credit Programwhich offers eligible production companies up to 35% transferable tax credit on eligible film production expenses, plus an additional 2% or 4% diversity bonus for eligible productions.
Since 2021, several major studios have been built in the state, including Palisade Steps and 10 studios in the basin at Kearny, Cinemalease Studios Caven Point in Jersey City, and Sustainable studios in Moonachie.
The new facility, in Englewood Cliffs, offers 10,000 square feet of post-production and office space, in addition to a 25-seat 4K theater, executive suites, conference rooms, kitchens and a outdoor space.
