Actor Usman Mukhtar has started a production house named Eastern Terrestrial (ET) Studios with his brother Meiraj with a ‘unique vision’ that caters to talented Pakistani artists who need an opportunity ‘to show off their artistic abilities’ .
“Really happy to announce that my brother Meiraj and I have started a production house together,” Mukhtar captioned an Instagram post showcasing the label and the artistic conception of the production house. He revealed that there was already a project in the pipeline. “We just finished our first project and can’t wait to show you the first product from ET Studios Insha’Allah.”
the Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay The actor shared that the studio’s vision is to give talented Pakistani artists a chance and the space to actualize their potential. “Pakistan is brimming with talent and we at ET Studios hope to provide a platform and uplift those artists who might not have a chance elsewhere and are looking for opportunities to showcase their artistic abilities.”
Mukhtar said the studio is passionate about delivering quality content while emphasizing fair and ethical production practices. “We hope you all enjoy and enjoy ET Studios’ unique vision,” he added.
Working behind the camera is not a first for the Sabbat actor. He is also a director and cinematographer by profession — his short film Bench published in November last year and won several awards. Mukhtar directed and starred in the short, alongside Rubya Chaudhry and Iman Shahid.
The film tells the story of a couple at the crossroads of their relationship who meet on a bench, a site that has been part of many milestones in their relationship.
“Making this film has been one of the greatest pleasures of my life. I love creating such art forms and I aspire to create more of these films,” Mukhtar said in a press release issued the day of the film’s launch.
