Actor Usman Mukhtar started a production house called “Eastern Terrestrial” with his brother Meiraj Haq, to help talented budding artists realize their potential.
The studio’s vision is to “provide a platform and uplift artists who might not have a chance elsewhere and who are looking for opportunities to showcase their artistic abilities,” Hum Kahan actor Ke Sachay Thay said in an Instagram post on Friday.
“We are passionate about delivering quality content while emphasizing fair and ethical production practices. We hope you all enjoy and enjoy ET Studios’ unique vision! added Mukhtar.
ET made its first project in collaboration with production house Down Town Films. In a later post, the actor shared the first teaser poster for the project titled “Gulabo Rani.”
While the Sabaat star has made a name for himself on screen with his exceptional acting skills, working behind the camera won’t be a first for him either.
In 2021, Mukhtar directs his first short film, Bench, with Rubya Chaudhry and Iman Shahid.
The film tells the story of a young couple at a crossroads in their relationship where leaving each other is just as difficult as staying together. They meet at their favorite place, the bench, to resolve their conflict, once and for all.
On the day of the film’s release, Mukhtar said he aspired to make more of these films as it has been “one of the greatest pleasures” of his life.
